Global Entry Interviews in Houston: The Complete Guide to the Houston Field Office GEEC

No appointments available

If your Global Entry interview has been scheduled, or you're hunting for one, at the Houston Field Office GEEC. Tucked inside the Bellevue office building in Houston's inner-loop corridor between River Oaks, Montrose, and the Neartown/Museum District. Travelers coming from Highland Village, West University, the Heights, Rice Village, Greenway Plaza, or anywhere along the Loop 610/US-59 corridor typically get routed to this enrollment center rather than the one out at the airport, so if you searched for Global Entry near any of those neighborhoods, this is likely your location. Given how daunting Houston Traffic can be, if there's one less reason to hop on the road, this is it.

Unlike most Global Entry enrollment centers, this one isn't inside a terminal at all; it's an unassuming high-rise office building on Shepherd Drive, which trips up a lot of first-timers (more on that below).

Hundreds of savvy travelers have skipped the long wait by using tools like Snapslot, which sends real-time SMS alerts when cancellations open up new appointment slots. Wait times at this center regularly stretch to a month or more, with slots frequently vanishing within minutes of being posted — a Snapslot alert can help you grab one long before you'd catch it manually.

Knowing the Global Entry Application Process

Submit Your Application The first step to obtaining Global Entry is to submit an online application through the Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) website, along with the non-refundable application fee. Ensure you provide accurate information and complete all required fields, including personal information, passport details, employment history, and travel history.

Await Conditional Approval After submitting your application, CBP will review it to determine your eligibility for Global Entry. If your application is conditionally approved, you'll receive a notification via your TTP account. This approval does not guarantee enrollment but indicates that you have met the initial criteria.

Schedule Your Interview This is the tough part. Once conditionally approved, log in to your TTP account to schedule your Global Entry interview. You'll need to select a convenient enrollment center and appointment time. It's essential to schedule your interview as soon as possible to secure your preferred date and time — appointment slots fill up quickly, but Snapslot can help you secure a cancellation.

Attend Your Interview Show up prepared with your passport, conditional approval letter, and other required documents.

Await Final Approval After your interview, final approval typically arrives within a few days, though some have reported waiting months.

Preparing for your interview

Getting ready for your interview is crucial. Here's what you'll likely need (refer to official CBP guidance for a complete list):

  • A valid passport (bring any non-U.S. passports too, if you hold them) and another form of government-issued ID, such as a driver's license

  • Your Conditional Approval letter from the Trusted Traveler Program

  • Proof of your current address if it differs from what's on your ID — a utility bill or lease agreement works

  • A list of countries you've visited in the past five years, if asked. The officer may ask about the reason for each visit, how long you stayed, and similar honesty-check questions

Pro tip: Dress professionally, and be prepared to answer a few casual questions about your travel habits and reason for applying.

Getting to your appointment

Parking at the Houston Field Office GEEC

There is free parking in the back of the building, accessible off Huldy Street. This is easy to miss if you're relying on GPS to drop you at the front entrance on Shepherd Drive, so plan to circle around to Huldy St. if the front lot looks full or gated.

Taking public transit to the Houston Field Office GEEC

METRO Route 27 (Shepherd) runs directly along S. Shepherd Drive, with stops within a short walk of the building, including at S. Shepherd Dr. & W. Dallas St. and S. Shepherd Dr. & San Felipe. If you're coming from downtown, the Route 27 bus connects to the Midtown Transit Center and several downtown routes, making it a reasonably direct option without a car.

If you're coming from further out — Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Katy, Pearland, or similar suburbs — driving or a rideshare like Uber or Lyft will almost always be more reliable than stitching together bus connections, since this is a local city route rather than a Park & Ride line.

No available appointments?

If you're struggling to find an open slot at the Houston Field Office GEEC, try these options:

Consider nearby centers: The Houston Intercontinental (IAH) enrollment center in Terminal E is a separate location about 17 miles away and sometimes has shorter wait times. IAH also has an official interactive terminal map if you need to navigate the airport for other reasons. Austin-Bergstrom and San Antonio International are also within a few hours' drive if you're flexible on location.

Enrollment on Arrival: If you're flying internationally and arriving at a participating airport like IAH, you may be able to complete your interview on the spot after clearing Customs, without a separate scheduled appointment.

Manual refreshing: Keep checking the TTP site frequently — slots often appear without warning (Mondays and early mornings tend to be common release times) and are taken within minutes.

Set up alerts: Snapslot can do the work for you, sending SMS alerts the moment a new slot opens at the Houston Field Office GEEC or nearby centers, so you're not the one hitting refresh all day.

A few gotchas specific to this location

  • This is an office building, not an airport. There's no airport signage to follow — look for the Bellevue building entrance on Shepherd Drive, take the elevator to the 13th floor, and follow the signage from there to the enrollment center.

  • Unusual office hours: Several visitor reports note the office does not open until 3:30 PM, which is later than most enrollment centers. Double-check the hours listed on your specific appointment confirmation, since hours can vary by day.

  • Arrive early, but wait downstairs: If you arrive more than 15 minutes before your scheduled time, plan to wait in the ground-floor lobby rather than heading straight up — you'll be directed upstairs closer to your appointment time.

  • Being late isn't forgiving: Applicants who arrive more than 15 minutes late are typically asked to reschedule entirely, so build in a buffer for Houston traffic on Shepherd, Westheimer, or the Loop.

  • Possible closure/relocation: Some third-party appointment-tracking sites have noted this location may be closing or relocating. We were not able to confirm this directly through CBP's official channels at the time of writing, so it's worth double-checking your appointment confirmation and the official CBP enrollment center page shortly before your visit, in case the location or address has changed.
